FAQs Pay all fees
Attention: 1st March 2018 onwards the handling fees will change. Find out more under Handling fees.
We recommend payments to be made as early as possible, because we are unable to process your application before you have paid the handling fee in full.
You must have paid the handling fees not later than the application deadline. The relevant date is the date on which the money was received in our account, not the date on which you commissioned the bank transfer. Make sure to allow enough time for the money transfer so that we receive your payment in due time, before the application deadline expires.
The handling fees cover the handling and evaluation of your application documents, regardless of the result of the checking procedure.
The uni-assist check includes:
- We assess if your educational certificates fulfil the general criteria for university studies in Germany.
- We convert your grades to the German system of grades.
- We check additional admission criteria set by the universities of your choice, depending on the procedure.
- We register all data and documents necessary for the universities’ admission procedures.
- We inform you about the result of our evaluation.
International transfers can take up to two weeks. Transfers from a German bank account can be delayed by a few days, for example due to public holidays.
Have you been waiting more than two weeks for your confirmation of receipt? Please send us a copy of your payment slip via our contact form, by post or fax. We will check if we have received your payment.

You can find all important information on these two options under Payment options.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept payment methods that are not listed and described there.
Some banks charge additional fees for international transfers to Germany. This applies in particular to transfers in a currency other than the Euro. You must bear these charges. Your bank will inform you of the amount of any extra charges.
Choose the "OUR" payment option to bear the entire cost.
You can also transfer the amount due from a German account, which usually does not incur additional fees. Of course, friends or relatives may also transfer the fees for you.
Please allow enough time for the money transfer. International transfers can take up to two weeks. Transfers from a German bank account can sometimes be delayed by a few days, for example, due to public holidays.

The old bank details (account number and bank number) are no longer valid. Please inform your bank of the SEPA procedure and ask how you can transfer money to the EU.

Yes. You can use the credit in your applicant’s account for additional applications in the same or a subsequent semester.
