Uploading documents
The application via uni-assist is fully digital. Simply upload all of the required documents in your My assist account.
When can I upload my documents?
You can upload your documents at any time – it does not matter whether you have already submitted an online application form or not. The most important thing is that you upload all of the required documents before the application deadline expires.
The processing time for your documents begins once you have submitted an online application form. In view of this, we recommend to submit your online application forms as early as possible, at least 8 weeks before the deadline expires. This ensures that we can inform you in time if documents are missing.
How do I upload my documents if I am applying to multiple universities?
The upload section in My assist is the same for all applications. For this reason, we need each document once only, even if you are applying to multiple universities or for several courses of study.
You can upload an individual letter of motivation or CV for each application. If you want to use the same version for all of your applications, one copy of each will be sufficient.
Do you want to upload an individual document for a specific application? Simply name the university and course of study you are applying to, visibly and in bold print, at the very top of your document. We will then be able to assign that document to the right university.
What do the categories in the upload section mean?
The categories in My assist are simply examples of different types of documents you can upload – depending on which documents are required.
Please find out from your chosen university which documents you need to submit. Then upload these documents in the matching category. Does no category match? Then select the category “Other.”
What should I keep in mind when uploading my documents?
The following applies to all uploads:
- Create scans of your documents and save them as PDF files.
- The scans must be complete and clearly legible.
- We need scans of your official certificates. Official certificates are those bearing a signature and stamp from the issuing institution, a reference to their automatic issuance or a verification code. Other prerequisities may apply.
- For certain countries, there are additional notes on documents. Check our Info country by country for more information.
You will find additional notes on uploading documents in the upload section in your My assist account.

You have uploaded your documents?
You did it! We can now evaluate your application.
You can track the status of your application online via your My assist account. This is also where we will inform you about the evaluation result.
Your chosen university will then decide on your admission and inform you of the decision.
