Pay and submit

After you have paid for and submitted your application, uni-assist can then process your application. Read about the handling fees and payment options here.

Handling fees

You pay the fees for the processing and evaluation of your documents. The uni-assist universities set the handling fees.

In each semester these handling fees apply:

Cost for the first chosen course of study: EUR 75.00
For each additional chosen course of study: EUR 30.00

(Handling fee system)

  • You pay per chosen study course. A chosen study course can be an application for a bachelor or Master's course, for a Studienkolleg (preparatory course) or for a preparatory German course.
  • Are you reapplying for a new semester? If so, the fee is again EUR 75.00 for your first chosen study course and EUR 30.00 for each additional chosen study course in the new semester.
  • The costs are the same for all forms of application, whether standard or VPD procedure.

University 1
Chosen course of study A EUR 75.00
Chosen course of study B EUR 30.00

University 2
Chosen course of study C EUR 30.00

Total EUR 135.00

Payment options

You can pay the fees for your uni-assist application either by bank transfer or by credit card.

3D Secure Credit card (Visa or MasterCard)

If you are using a 3D Secure credit card, you can make your payments easily with your My assist account. We accept both Visa and MasterCard.

Payments with 3D Secure offer increased security for credit card transactions. In order to use this system, you need to be signed up for the 3D Secure system. For more information, please contact your bank.

Bank transfer

You are welcome to pay by bank transfer. You have the following options:

Online bank transfer

If you are using the online bank transfer option, you can pay via your My assist account.

From there, we will redirect you to the online bank transfer site. You can then pay using your online banking data.

You can currently use the online bank transfer option with a bank account from the following countries: Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Spain and Austria.

Bank transfer

You can pay the handling fees by bank transfer – including by online banking. Once we have received your payment, you will see it as credit in your My assist account. With your credit, you then submit your application.

Open your My assist account:

1. Click on “My account” / “Credit balance.“

2. In the section “Add credit,” select “Bank transfer” as payment option.

3. Tick the box next to the mandatory questions, then click on “Continue.”

4. We will redirect you to the website of our payment service provider, where you request the personal IBAN you need for the transfer. You will receive your personal IBAN in a message in your My assist account.

5. Transfer the handling fees. Always use your personal IBAN for the transfer. Include your applicant number, name and date of birth in the payment details.

Some banks charge extra fees for international transfers to Germany. This is especially the case for transfers in currencies other than Euros. You are responsible for paying these fees. Your bank can inform you about any extra transfer fees.

Please note: Tell your bank that you want to use the OUR transfer to pay your handling fees. This ensures that you pay the full amount of the transfer.

Alternative: Bank transfers from a German bank account generally do not incur additional fees. Friends or relatives with a German bank account can transfer the handling fees for you.

Another person can transfer the handling fees for you. The transfer of the handling fee for your application can only be made using your personal IBAN.

Notes:

Sometimes banks may not accept payments with credit cards or bank transfers from certain countries for security reasons. Ask your bank about international transactions.

You will find more information on the website of the Deutsche Bundesbank.
