Find your chosen course
Use the search function in My assist to check the courses on offer at uni assist universities and find and select your chosen course.
Using the search function
- The universities decide which courses they offer in My assist. You can apply as soon as the university has activated applications for your chosen course.
- The universities offer some courses only in specific semesters. Find out from your chosen university when you can apply.
- Select your chosen semester and university and you will see the university’s entire course offer. Leave all the other fields blank.
Features of the VPD procedure
Selecting a subject
For some universities, the application shows only the academic field “alle Fächer” (= all subjects). With the VPD you then apply to the university directly and specify which subject or subjects you are applying for.
Selecting a semester
You can apply for a VPD at any time, regardless of which semester you select in My assist. The VPD is valid for one year from its date of issue.
Check your selection list
After you have selected your chosen course, you will find it in your selection list. Check there whether there are any additional notes on applying. If so, adjust your selection list accordingly.
Has the university included additional questions in the application? Then answer all the questions completely. You can then pay for and submit your application.

You have applied online?
You did it! We can now evaluate your application.
You can track the status of your application online via your My assist account. This is also where we will inform you about the evaluation result.
Your chosen university will then decide on your admission and inform you of the decision.
