Educational certificates and translations
On this page you will find general notes on educational certificates and translations.
General notes
- Document your education in detail: start with the certificate from the last school you graduated from (which entitles you to begin university studies in your home country) and continue up to the current state of progress in your university studies.
- Upload all certificates in their entirety in My assist: include the diploma certificate as well as the overview of subjects and grades. Do not omit any parts of the certificate (such as a Diploma Supplement) or any single pages.
- Your certificates must be official: official certificates are those bearing a signature and stamp from the issuing institution, a reference to their automatic issuance or a verification code. Other prerequisities may apply.
- You need to upload each document only once, even if you wish to apply to multiple universities.
Important: Find out under Info country by country if there are special notes on certificates from your country of origin.

- Upload a link to your university’s website containing information on the grading system.
- Upload a PDF document with your university’s official grading system.
Please note:
- We need an official document on your university’s grading system, such as the examination regulations. Links to anabin or Wikipedia are not enough.
- We need the grading system used for the award of your degree - not the grading system used for a single course.

Standards for the language of education certificates
Upload your education certificates in their original language, accompanied by a translation into German or English. This also applies to the overview of subjects and grades (transcript).
If your country issues your education certificates (additionally) in German or English, we do not need a translation (exceptions are listed under Info country by country).

We accept translations of certificates from the following sources:
- persons or institutions authorised to make translations under oath or that are admissible in court,
- a department of the issuing school or university that is authorised to issue such translations.
