Regular course duration

The number of semesters set as the standard for completion of a course of study.

The regular course duration is set by the university.

bachelor courses are usually set to a duration of six semesters for "Universitäten" (universities) and eight semesters for "Fachhochschulen" (universities of applied sciences).

A Master’s course is set to a duration of two to four semesters.

The actual duration of study may be different from the regular course duration.
